I hope everyone is doing well. Sorry it’s been awhile since my last newsletter, I have been working on a number of things including personal projects, new content, and brand deals and further brand positioning for The Logo Creative.
I’’s been such a crazy world we live in since the emergence of Covid, it changed everything, It broke a lot of businesses, made others stronger, it really shook the business world hard.
It may be awhile before we see the back of this virus, but we are past the shock phase.
We now have to start focusing on the future. I realise that this is far from easy when we don’t know what the future holds.
In this respect at least we are all in it together: venturing out into the unknown, not knowing what new factor outside of our control will derail plans, forcing another change in brand strategy.
I would argue strongly that it is impossible to do this on your own. Good leaders will demonstrate their strength by acknowledging they need help and collaborating with others to get to the right place.
What is the right place? I don’t think it can, or should, be where we were before. We must use the experience of the lockdown to rethink what a successful business looks like.
Business shouldn’t look the same after Covid – brands should recognise that purpose creates distinctiveness and will be key to future growth.
Businesses need to start re-evaluating their brand positioning within the market space.
Think of it like this: Brand positioning is the space a brand occupies within the mind of the customer and how it differentiates itself from competitors, brand positioning is a marketing strategy that helps businesses set themselves apart.
Implementing a brand positioning strategy begins with a brand positioning statement.
A brand positioning statement is a description of your target market that also includes how you would like the brand to be perceived by customers based on your research and data collected.
In simple terms, a brand positioning statement is the who, when, where, why, and how of the brands identity.
