Letters As Symbols by Christophe De Pelsemaker & Paul Ibou
Book Review & Insights From The Author Christophe De Pelsemaker
I’m So Glad You're Here! - Thanks for sticking with me!
I hope everyone is doing well this week. 🙂
I have had this book for quite some time now, me and Christophe the Author and a good friend in the design community did a book trade.
Christophe was after a book that he could not get hold of in Belgium and I happen to have a spare copy so it was a great opportunity for me to get his book Letters as Symbols to check out and review for you my fine readers.
I posted a first look unshrink wrapping video to youtube quite some time ago but the autofocus on my camera was playing up and it kind of ruined the video as once the shrinkwrap is off there is no going back.
I realised there was an issue as soon as i turned the first page and even reset the autofocus settings during the video but it made no difference so I kept going I still posted the video as It’s still watchable but annoying!
It did eventually stabilise for a while but now my camera has started having regular autofocus and pic quality issues so it looks like I will be using my phone until I can get a new one.
I shot another video last week on my phone so you can watch it without the auto focus jumping in and out.
I am not a professional video maker nor do i have all the fancy gear. I just try and do the best with what I have and try to improve over time!

I treated myself last week and purchased a set of books I have had on my wish list for quite some time.
I’m happy that they are now on my studio bookshelf, but I won’t be reading them for awhile as I have quite a few book reviews I need to finalise first.
I have been working around the clock to get these finished… literally!
I have also received some other books readers have suggested that I review so more first look videos to share with you in future issues.
As i always say - “Stay curious & enthusiastic, and good things will happen!”
Thanks for reading. :)
