I’m So Glad You're Here! - Thanks for sticking with me!
I hope everyone is ok and staying safe. January has been a good month for me and a great start to 2021.
I have been focusing on my business and my work process which is working great but it’s always best to review your work process just to check there are no leaks or cracks that have gone unnoticed.
I’m always in the mindset to up my game, but it’s also important to not change things that are working well.
So far things are working well for me, so no drastic changes, but i’m still looking to implement some elements to make my process and client onboarding that much better for them.
Taking a quick look at the content for the logo creative, as you know I have plenty of books lined up to review and I would love to pump them out quicker and i’m doing the best i can with the time i have after client work.
I have finished reading Storyategy by Matt Davis and the review is written. I am now in the process of putting together the Q&A together for Matt.
If you would like to ask him anything, drop it in the comments and we can include it.
Regarding the designer interviews over the last few months, I have been in contact with some amazing designers and have some great ones lined up. Stay tuned for that!
Let’s get into today’s MidWeek Mix Issue .06 content 👇
Designer Interview With Andy Cooke
Andy Cooke did not have a conventional path through the world of design. It began with failure, led to risk, and eventually to reward.
With a combined optimistic attitude and always seeing the potential in opportunity, Andy learned a lot and progressed in his career working alongside great minds, hiring great talent, and having the pleasure of working with great clients.
Andy holds a BA (Hons) First Class in Graphic Design from of Staffordshire University, he has won the Design Weeks Rising Star Award and Best Technical Innovation from The Drum online media awards.
Andy strives to create and build meaningful brand identities that live and breathe across both digital and physical touchpoints that are rooted in strategy, theory and thinking.
Andy, as he describes, is usually the dreamer in the room. The eternal optimist who says it can be done. “Let’s just start, then figure out how to do it along the way. If we need to, it’s always better to ask for forgiveness than permission”
Andy has had the pleasure of showcasing his work at numerous events over the years, and spoken at various universities, workshops and galleries.
Andy’s work has also been featured in Grafik Magazine, Computer Arts Magazine, and WIRED Magazine.
Andy is also the author of the book Graphic Design for Art, Fashion, Film, Architecture, Photography, and Product Design & Everything In Between you may be familiar with as we recently reviewed in our book review section.
Graphic Design for Art, Fashion, Film, Architecture, Photography, Product Design & Everything In Between by Andy Cooke
In this book review, we take a look at Graphic Design for Art, Fashion, Film, Architecture, Photography, and Product Design & Everything In Between by Andy Cooke
It’s a collection of ground-breaking campaigns for the creative industries and insights from the world’s leading design studios and shows how today’s graphic designers are thinking, collaborating and breaking the rules.
I reviewed this quite some time ago so the video quality is not the greatest as i filmed it on my phone and it did not agree with my lighting.
The written review of the book includes a Q&A with Andy I ask him some questions about the book and graphic design as a career.

I try to watch a film with the kids most nights, it’s fun especially when it’s a film I watch as a kid!
I’ve started watching The Walking Dead on Prime Video it’s something I have been wanting to watch for a long time and did not realise it was on Prime.
Playing: Don’t play a lot, but I think I’ll be playing this well into 2021 on my second playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 - UK | US
