I’m So Glad You're Here! - Thanks for sticking with me!
I hope you're all ok and staying safe, it’s been a busy time for me since my last newsletter where i reviewed Show Your Work by Austin Kleon so be sure to take a look at that if you missed it.
I’ve been finalizing some projects i have been working on before i take a break from client work for the rest of the year.
As i mentioned awhile back in a previous newsletter, due to how busy i have been I made the decision to take a break and focus on content creation and some collaborations i have in place.
Ok, i’ll keep it short and let’s get into the content.
Designer Interview with Michael Penda
In today’s Designer Interview we feature Michael Penda who came from a marketing and media background, he's now a graphic designer specialising in brand identity and illustration design, who has worked with a variety of clients from coffee shops to SaaS platforms and musicians.
Michael is formally from Boston, where he ran Penda Design full-time, and has now moved to Wichita, KS. to work for Gardner Design as a senior graphic designer.
Pitching Ideas by Jeroen Van Geel
I purchased this book during lock down with a few other titles. It’s such a great book i’m glad i read it.
I will be reviewing it when i get to it as you can imagine I have lots of books to review and am working hard to keep the flow going.
You’ll have to excuse the background on this one If you're used to my clean white backgrounds, i don’t have access to my lighting gear and setup to do a first look video as i’m having some work done in my studio, so it’s out of commission this week.
I had to snap this one at home. I will do the video as soon as the studio is back to normal.
on with the book:
You have another fantastic idea!

Reading:
Awhile back i purchased all three of Austin Kleon’s book. I have read
“Steal like an Artist”, and while on holiday last week i read “Show Your Work” great books, I’m nearly finished with “Keep Going” review coming very soon.

Show Your Work - Amazon | Wordery | Bookshop
Keep Going - Amazon | Wordery | Bookshop
Listening:
Spotify Playlist - Dance Classics - Been enjoying some dance classics from 90’ 00s recently.
Recommended Viewings: Amazon Prime - After completing The Walking Dead and loving it! I started watching Fear The Walking Dead currently on season 4 | Netflix - I watched the 2021 reboot of The Wrong Turn, it was a decent film, i enjoyed it worth a watch.
Playing:
Recently finished playing Spider-Man on PS4 It was a birthday present from a couple of years ago, and its been sitting there for so long in the shrink-wrap i decided it was time to play it as my son asked when i was ever going to play it.
It was very enjoyablespiderman experience and I just started a second play through with my son, he’s pretty good at 5 and picks up the controls really fast. If you like superhero games it’s worth playing!
I'm looking to play a second play through of Days Gone soon as i really enjoyed it the first time around.
As I always say - “Stay curious & enthusiastic, and good things will happen!”
Thanks for reading. I appreciate your support. 😃
