Every Good Logo Tells a Story!
Meaning behind The Logo Creative logo and 40 Famous Brand Logos & Their Hidden Secrets.
I’m So Glad You're Here! - Thanks for sticking with me!
I hope everyone is doing well, I myself have been extremely busy with a range of things.
I posted a new project on the portfolio for Ruby Kitchens Ltd that i had a blast working on such a great project and client.
I will be posting another project for a clothing company i have been working with that was also a great project to work on but also great clients to work with. (Plus lots of meaning in their logo design.)
I worked on quite a few good projects last year and this year so far, it’s always tough selecting the ones to show and write case studies for, but i base them on the process and client and the overall enjoyment i get from them.
Mainly the ones that i think about the most after they are signed off.
When thinking about a logo design concept, i always try to tell a story or include elements of the brand’s story within the design.
It’s part of the challenge that excites me and really gets me thinking. Make the concept as simple as possible, but tell enough story leading to a bigger brand story.
The Story of The Logo Creative Mark
You may not have seen this, but when creating The Logo Creative Mark i wanted to create a monogram style logo including the letters “TLC” but also include the brand’s meaning and what we stand for.
The Name & Meaning
The name was there long before the mark was created, and before i started specialising in logos and visual identity design.
At the time i was running a generalist graphic design studio. The name came about when I was creating a printed portfolio for a client who i was having a meeting with and my Dad was looking at it and said “You really are a logo creative” he then referred me to other people as The Logo Creative when discussing my work and what i did, and from there the name was born.
I immediately registered the name and from his encouragement decided to specialise.
As a business and brand we specialise in designing logos and visual brand identities. The logo is the centerpiece to the brand and their visual identity design.
It’s the first touchpoint consumers see when interacting with a brand for the first time.
The logo is you, it’s your business, and your brand. It’s your brand’s first point of contact with the outside world.
Sure, a logo is just one small part of a brand’s overall visual identity and branding, but the logo / brand mark remains the centerpiece of the overall branding.
For example: when you think of someone who has made a positive impact on your life, more than likely you think of their face, and you picture this in your mind, it stays with you forever!
It's the same with brands we trust who make us feel positive. We picture their logo (the brand’s face) because we are thinking about the positive experiences we had with that brand.
Yes, there are plenty of brands all offering the same thing, but that differentiation is achieved through brand identity design, and how you offer what you do – a range of elements that all work together to form a distinctive picture in our minds.
I wanted to capture the essence of the brand and what it stands for in a simple but memorable way.
Below are some of the early plans for the logo design which show the thinking behind the concept but a thicker rough sketch of the final design.
As we now know, the logo is the centerpiece to the brand and i captured this by placing the logo “TL” within the “C” creating the message that the logo design is the centerpiece of a brand and it’s what we specialise in and offer our clients.
So now you understand our logo brand mark lets take a look at 40 Famous Brand Logos & Their Hidden Secrets.

What I’m Doing?
Besides spending time with my family and having fun with my two children, working on client projects and creating content for you lovely people.
When I get time to relax here’s what I’m reading, listening to, watching and playing when I have the time!
Reading: I have finished reading Storyategy by Matt Davis. I announced this book in the Midweek Mix Issue .05 edition.
It’s a great book and an awesome read that i have really enjoyed. I have written the review and completed the Q&A with matt, so the review is nearly finished.
I have also finished the review for Radim’s book Pause, Breathe and Grow - Notes on mindful creative life.
If you would like to ask Radim any questions about the book, leave a comment and we can include them.
I would prefer if you leave a comment here rather than private DM’s as others can’t see it, and i would like conversations to be open and transparent.
I am steadily working through The Lettering Workshop with Francis Chouquet. I also shared it in the Midweek-Mix o4 Issue. This is an outstanding book it’s really helping me so much with my hand lettering.
I used some of the techniques i learnt to do some lettering on a client project and the client loved it! Super happy about that. 👌
It’s a must have for designers or anyone looking to learn or improve their hand lettering. I’m just taking my time with it.
Listening: Spotify Playlist - N-Trance Radio- To be honest I have not been listening to much music so far this year. The above playlist on Spotify has some old skool classics - such as N-Trance, Sash, Haddaway, 2 Unlimited, SNAP 🎶 Party On!
Recommended Viewings: Netflix - Kidnap | Get Hard | Also watching some good films on Prime Video.
I’m currently watching and loving The Walking Dead on Prime Video, i’m hooked and currently on season 6 and watching at least one episode a night if not two. Won’t take me long to finish it!
Playing: Don’t play a lot only a couple of times a week, but I’m still on my second playthrough of Red Dead Redemption 2 on PS4 - UK | US
I’m in the epilogue so not long now until it’s finished for the second time, a really awesome game! For some reason Buell ran away from beecher’s hope and i can’t find him! ☹ Will have to load up an old save!
I’m really wanting to play Days Gone again. Now i have been watching The Walking Dead it’s got me in all zombie survival mode.
I’m also wanting to get The Last Of Us 2 which i have held off on, as i’m looking to get a PS5 and thought they might remaster it for the new gen console.
Not sure if that will happen. I did the same for the first game and got the remastered version. Oh boy I played that game about 4-5 times i could easily play it again! …oh no so many great games, 😍 not enough time! I love these types of games!
I plan on treating myself for my Bday in April so i may get it for PS4 and i can always play on PS5 through the backward compatibility.
I love gaming, i really need to dedicate more time to it, It’s not all about the work we need to play and take some downtime in our lives also. (talking to myself here!)
As I always say - “Stay curious & enthusiastic, and good things will happen!”
Thanks for reading. I appreciate your support. 😃
I would love to hear your logo design story tell us about it in the comments.
