I’m So Glad You're Here! - Thanks for sticking with me!
Wow what a time its been since my last news letter. A lot of things are happening at the moment, I can’t keep up.
I hope everyone is doing ok. This year I have been swamped with client work, and even though i have enjoyed most of the projects I have worked on I have been feeling like I want a break from client work.
I want to focus more on content, due to being tied up with projects I feel i have neglected the content side of my business.
I have some amazing interviews waiting to be released, and so many books im losing count and feeling a little overwhelmed.
I mentioned in my last newsletter that I was thinking about taking a break from client work, and i have made the decision not to take on any more projects for the rest of this year.
I already turned down a few projects last month, and two are even willing to wait for me. That’s amazing and i’m really grateful for everything I have been able to create for myself with The Logo Creative and the support I have received from my readers. I value each and every one of you!
I’ll be sharing some completed projects down the line when i have decided which one’s i’m going to create case studies for. Others i may just show the logos on the logo design portfolio page, who knows.
Holiday
We recently went away for the week on a fun holiday with the kids to Cleethorpes, had such a good time and i was ready for the break.
I even made some new friends and got on the wrong side of a crocodile who kept snapping at me, I think he was camera shy!
I took some pictures of the animals at the Jungle Zoo we visited, my favourite was the white bird you see in the picture.
His name is Monty and he’s a Citron Crested Cockatoo, he also celebrated his 36th birthday on July 4th , this guy is almost as old as me! I’m 38! Wow, this guy has been around awhile!
He was awesome, we played peekaboo, he also said it when he peeped around the corner from hiding I could have brought him home with me.
These animals in particular really have their own personalities, it’s a nice place and worth a visit!
Office Entertainment
I also started setting up my entertainment corner in my office. I still have some jigging around to do, and since this picture was taken I have added some neon lights behind the TV and under the shelf which look great at night, when playing a game or watching a movie.
I’m glad i did it as it’s made my space more than just a place of work, but rather a happy place where I can literally do anything I like, and it’s good for my mental health.
I used to just work and work until the early hours, and not take regular breaks. I knew i had to change this. I was too hard on myself with the attitude of only working during work hours!
I have always been motivated by “freedom” working for myself and be my own boss. But being hard on myself is not the way to go!
My Dad would always say to me “Your too hard on yourself, you need to chill out, stop thinking too much, and stressing yourself out”
Now i realise that as long as the work gets completed, why shouldn't I be able to relax and chill between working? Now that’s freedom!. I am a lot happier now!.
My Dad was always right, I now take regular breaks and have some down time to relax and chill.
By doing this i have found myself being more productive, working less, and sleeping better. I’m super chilled out! 😀
Designer Interview With Mathew Wain
In today’s Designer Interview we feature Mathew Wain, who is a freelance graphic designer working from home in North-East England. He's also proud to be a published typographer, illustrator and award-winning graphic designer.
After graduating from Teesside University Mathew threw caution to the wind and took 3 tablespoons of ambition and embarked on his own solo venture.
Mathew is infatuated with design, and it's been rooted from the start. From pencils and crayons to constructing Hot Wheels garages out of old shoe boxes.
He practices his craft each and everyday without fail. Scribble on napkins or brush to canvas. It all adds up and counts towards something bigger.
I became friends with Mathew on Instagram after we started following each other. I love Mathews’ style and knew he would be a good fit to feature his amazing talent.
Some Goodies From BIS Publishers
My lovely friends over at BIS Publishing sent me a goodie box full of books and some card games.
I will be sharing these over on Instagram this week, and then i’ll create some first look videos so you can see some of the content.
I’ll also be reviewing them down the line.
Thanks again to BIS they are awesome and have some of the best creative and design books on the market. 👍🏻

Listening: Spotify Playlist - All Out 80s - Been enjoying some 80s classics recently.
Recommended Viewings: Netflix - Got myself hooked on Sons of Anarchy currently on season 4 | Disney + - Enjoyed watching Falcon and the Winter Soldier. I have just started season 10 of The Walking Dead.
Playing: Recently finished my second play through of The Last of Us 2, and I enjoyed it that much i played it through again. Brilliant game! - | I’m also playing with my son Lego Marvel Super Heroes. It’s a fun game, he saw someone playing it on YouTube and asked if we could get it, so i treated him.
As I always say - “Stay curious & enthusiastic, and good things will happen!”
